Although the
subject matter was specifically regarding Churchgate,
Bolton, the themes of David's talk and the images he
showed could well have applied to many towns and cities.
Especially those that have undergone dramatic changes
over the last 250 years.
From a semi-rural landscape,
through rapid development, due to industrialisation, to
a slower, but nevertheless continuing change down the
years.
The photo tour of Churchgate reflected the
social and economic featues through time, in particuar,
David's building by building journey that explored the
past and present, if still standing, of each.
A
lively and engaging presentation by David, making a
welcome return to speak to the society.
